Easley top kicker at camp

Newton junior Matt Easley earned top honors at the Midwest Football Special Teams Camp held June 23-24 at the University of Iowa. Easley was selected as the Outstanding Kicker in competition with 54 athletes from six different states. Easley recorded the longest field goal at 50 yards and was third in kickoffs with a 57.3 yard average. The camp staff featured Nate Kaeding, a former Hawkeye all-American and 2009 All-Pro kicker for the San Diego Chargers.
